About this site

Hi, I'm Uly. Born and raised in southern Brazil, naturalized German, now based in Berlin. In my early adult years, I split my time between DJing, writing about music, and building a career in software engineering. Eventually, I focused on the latter and left the music side gigs behind — something I'm now trying to revive.

I used to enjoy the internet. These days, though, I’m increasingly put off by what it’s become — the algorithmic noise, the centralization, the way we interact with it. The latest disappointment, and maybe the final push I needed, is the wave of AI-generated content flooding social media, YouTube, and even music platforms.

So I’m going back to something I’ve always loved: sharing music I care about.

Music discovery has always been part of my life. It started back home, digging through my family’s collection of CDs and tapes — finding everything from Agepê to Iron Maiden to traditional Southern Brazilian music. I learned early how rich and wide the world of sound can be.

This blog is a quiet corner. Think of it like the back room of your favorite record store or a cozy bookstore. A place for peace, introspection, and the occasional gem. There’s no content calendar — at least for now. It’s a side project, and it'll stay that way for the foreseeable future. Just an honest, unpretentious space where I share what I’ve been listening to and digging into, in case you might like it too.

What I can promise: no AI slop, no clickbait. Just human-curated music and genuine curiosity.

Viel Spaß!
